    Sports Coach Vacancy at Pinnacle College Kyalami

    Pinnacle College Kyalami is currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Sports Coach to lead coaching initiatives in various sporting codes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in coaching soccer, netball, swimming, and basketball. This is a part-time position with a starting date of 18 June 2025, with applications closing on 27 June 2025. The position is based at Pinnacle College Kyalami, Johannesburg, within the ADvTECH Schools Division.

    Key Responsibilities of the Role

    As a Sports Coach at Pinnacle College Kyalami, the successful candidate will be expected to:

    1. Coach and Train Students

    The primary responsibility will be to coach students in the designated sports codes, namely soccer, netball, swimming, and basketball. The coach will work with students of varying skill levels, from beginners to more experienced athletes, ensuring that each athlete receives the attention and guidance they need to improve their skills and knowledge of the game.

    2. Promote Teamwork and Discipline

    The role requires a commitment to developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline among students. The coach will encourage a positive and inclusive atmosphere where athletes can learn the importance of cooperation, leadership, and responsibility.

    3. Monitor and Assess Student Progress

    In addition to coaching, the Sports Coach will be expected to monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to both students and parents as necessary. The aim is to ensure that every student achieves their personal best while also contributing to the success of the team.

    4. Organize and Manage Sports Events

    The role also involves assisting in organizing and managing sports events and matches, including practices, tournaments, and inter-school competitions. The Sports Coach will collaborate with other coaches and school staff to ensure the smooth execution of these events.

    5. Support Holistic Student Development

    Pinnacle College Kyalami values the holistic development of students, and the Sports Coach will be a key player in supporting this philosophy. The successful candidate will contribute not just to the physical development of students but also to their emotional and social growth through sports.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate for the Sports Coach role at Pinnacle College Kyalami will possess the following:

    – Relevant Coaching Qualifications

    A qualified coach with certification or accreditation in the sporting codes of soccer, netball, swimming, and basketball is required. These qualifications demonstrate the coach’s ability to provide expert training and guidance to students.

    – Experience in School or Club-Level Coaching

    A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience coaching sports at the school or club level is required. This experience ensures that the coach understands the unique needs of young athletes and can develop effective training programs.

    – Excellent Communication Skills

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role. The Sports Coach must be able to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents, providing constructive feedback and fostering a positive learning environment.
