Tactical Raids Across Gauteng
On Thursday, 23 May 2025, law enforcement teams rescued the executive during simultaneous raids in Tembisa and at OR Tambo International Airport. Officers arrested one suspect at the airport while he attempted to flee the country. He was found in possession of the victim’s cellphone and a large sum of money transferred from the executive’s bank account.
Meanwhile, SAPS and Vision Tactical stormed a property in Tembisa, arresting three more suspects. There, they recovered stolen vehicles and freed two additional victims—a kidnapping victim and a hijacking victim. A fifth suspect was apprehended at the scene. Later, authorities located the third victim and reunited them with their family.

Paramedics treated all three victims immediately after the rescue. Forensic investigators processed multiple scenes to secure evidence for the ongoing criminal investigation. Photos released by Vision Tactical show several of the arrested suspects and recovered vehicles, revealing the criminal syndicate’s scale and coordination.

The criminals, driving a silver Hyundai i10, ambushed the men at a car rental company and held them in dense bush along the R21. There, the suspects forced the victims to hand over their bank cards and PINs, withdrawing large sums of money.
SAPS’s Anti-Kidnapping Task Team intervened quickly, rescuing the victims and recovering their hijacked Range Rover in Tembisa. However, some of the Midrand suspects remain at large. Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that an active manhunt is underway.
