    Available Jobs at the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources

    The DMPR is currently hiring for the following positions:

    1. Senior Vetting Investigator

    • Reference No: 037
    • Salary: R582 444 per annum (Level 10)
    • Centre: Head Office, Pretoria

    Requirements:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in one of the following fields:
      • Security Risk Management
      • Safety and Security Management
      • Social Science
      • Criminology
      • Criminal Psychology
      • Forensic Investigation
      • Policing / Police Science
      • Law
    • At least 3 years’ investigation experience.
    • Certificate in Security Vetting (SSA/SAPS/SANDF).
    • Valid driver’s licence.

    Skills Needed:

    • Problem solving and analysis.
    • Communication and interviewing skills.
    • Analytical thinking and decision-making.
    • Ability to manage conflict.
    • Computer literacy.

    Duties:

    • Conduct vetting fieldwork investigations.
    • Help develop policies and guidelines for vetting.
    • Work closely with the State Security Agency.
    • Manage vetting project files.
    • Take part in vetting task teams.

    2. Driver / Messenger

    • Salary: R193 359 per annum (Level 04)
    • Centre: Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Minimum Grade 10.
    • Valid driver’s licence.
    • No experience required.

    Skills Needed:

    • Good communication skills (written and spoken).
    • Computer literacy.
    • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to think logically and objectively.

    Duties:

    • Collect and deliver documents.
    • Transport employees, guests, and special advisors.
    • Support the Deputy Minister’s office with logistics.
    • Follow departmental policies and procedures.

    3. Food Aide Service

    • Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 02)

    Requirements:

    • ABET 2 (NQF 1) qualification.
    • No experience required.

    Skills Needed:

    • Communication and teamwork.
    • Ability to follow hygiene and safety rules.
    • Creativity and problem-solving.

    Duties:

    • Clean kitchen utensils and equipment.
    • Help with catering services.
    • Keep stock of kitchen supplies.
    • Apply hygiene and food safety standards.
    • Manage waste disposal.

    The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has made the application process simple. There are four ways to submit your application:

    1. Post – Send your application to: The Director-General

    2. Hand Delivery – Drop it off at: Trevenna Campus
      Corner Meintjies and Francis Baard Street
      (Former Schoeman), Pretoria
    3. Courier Service – Deliver your application via a reliable courier company.
    4. Email – Send your application as one PDF file (max 15MB) to the email addresses provided for each position.

    Important Things to Remember

    • Use the new Z83 application form (effective from 1 January 2021). You can get it from:
      • www.gov.za
      • www.dpsa.gov.za
    • Your application must include:
      • A completed Z83 form (signed and dated).
      • A detailed CV with at least 3 contactable references.
    • Do NOT send copies of qualifications when applying. Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to bring certified copies to interviews.
    • Foreign qualifications must include a SAQA evaluation certificate.
    • If you do not hear back within 3 months after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
    • All shortlisted candidates will undergo vetting, security checks, and criminal record checks.
