    The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) offers a range of Graduate Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities through its various branches and regional offices. These positions provide excellent career development prospects for young graduates and students seeking to gain practical experience in the public sector.

    1. Career Development Services

    • Position: Graduate Intern
    • Stipend: R7 860.40 per month
    • Centre: Pretoria Head Office
    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract
    • Requirements: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Information Management, Knowledge Management, or Information Science

    2. Social Inclusion, Equity, Access & Quality

    • Position: Graduate Intern & WIL Student
    • Stipend: R7 860.40 (Graduate Intern), R6 659.40 (WIL Student)
    • Centre: Pretoria Head Office
    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract
    • Requirements: National Diploma in Management Assistant/Office Management and Technology, N6 Certificate in Management Assistant

    3. TVET Branch – Office of the DDG

    • Position: WIL Student
    • Stipend: R7 860.40 per month
    • Centre: Pretoria Head Office
    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract
    • Requirements: N6 Certificate in Management Assistant/Public Administration

    4. TVET Management and Governance Support

    • Position: Graduate Intern & WIL Student

    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract

    5. TVET Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Gauteng and Free State TVET Regional Office (Johannesburg Marshall Town)
    • Kwazulu Natal TVET Regional Office (Pietermaritzburg)

    • Free State CET Regional Office (Mangaung)

    Each of these regional offices offers both Graduate Intern and WIL Student positions. The stipend is typically R7 860.40 per month for Graduate Interns and R6 659.40 per month for WIL Students.

    • Stipend: R7 860.40 per month
    • Centre: Pretoria Head Office and Regional Offices
    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract
    • Requirements:
      • Institutional Funding: National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration/Public Policy/Developmental Studies/Economics
      • CET College Budget Planning and Management: National Diploma/B-Tech/Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting/Financial Management/Cost and Management Accounting
      • CD: ETDA (Partnership & Linkages): National Diploma/Degree in Project Management with Research, Public Management, Financial Management, Office Management
      • Institutional Planning Support: National Diploma/Degree in Office Management and Technology/Office Administration/Public Administration
      • Management Governance Support: National Diploma/Degree in Public Management/Office Administration
      • Office of the DDG: TVET Branch: National Diploma/Degree in Public Management/Public Administration/Project Management/Development Studies/Commerce

    11. Private Colleges

    • Position: Graduate Intern
    • Stipend: R7 860.40 per month
    • Centre: Pretoria Head Office
    • Duration: 24-month fixed-term contract
    • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Law/LLB

      • Important Note:
        • Applicants must clearly state the field of study they are applying for in their application.
        • Only the Z83 form and CV should be submitted—no additional documents required unless otherwise stated in the advert.
    4. Important Application Notes:
      • Responsibility: It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all required documents are submitted by the due date. Incomplete applications or missing documents will not be considered.
      • Multiple Applications: If applying for more than one field of study, submit a separate Z83 form and the required documents for each field to the relevant address.
      • Eligibility Criteria:
        • Applicants must meet the academic requirements for the field of study as listed in the advert.
        • Applicants should not have previously served as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service.
        • Verification: All appointments are subject to the verification of educational qualifications, previous experience, citizenship, reference checks, and security vetting.
        • Foreign Qualifications: Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
    5. Important Disqualifications:
      • Late Applications: Applications received after the closing date or submitted via email (outside the email address specified) will not be considered.
      • Previous Interns: Applicants who have participated in the DHET internship programme in the past will not be considered.
