Key Responsibilities of the Invigilator Role
The Invigilator’s duties are vital in maintaining a professional and secure environment during exams. The core responsibilities include:
- Pre-Exam Setup: Arrive at the exam venue early to report to the exam office and prepare the venue.
- Material Security: Ensure all exam papers and materials are kept secure at all times before, during, and after the exam.
- Venue Setup and Student Management: Oversee the proper arrangement of exam venues to meet standard requirements, admit students, and seat them appropriately.
- Conducting Exams: Distribute exam materials, assist students with queries, and ensure they follow proper exam conduct.
- Numeracy: Strong numeracy skills are essential to carry out various tasks effectively.

Qualifications & Experience
- Essential Qualifications: A Grade 12 certificate, with any additional qualification from a recognised SAQA-accredited institution.
- Preferred Experience: Experience as an Invigilator at VUT is advantageous.
- Age Range: Applicants must be between 25 and 60 years old.
- Graduate Status: Unemployed graduates, and individuals who have not been registered or graduated from VUT within the past two years, are eligible to apply.
