Johannesburg Water clarified that households might still see some water flow shortly after the reservoirs are closed. Full water supply could take between one to three hours after the throttling periods end.

However, this bypass has a lower capacity than the main reservoir, leading to noticeable pressure reductions. Residents are being urged to conserve water during this period to prevent further strain on the temporary system.
