The Tembisa township is gearing up for one of its biggest lifestyle and music festivals of the year. The Lekompo Spring Chillout will take over Zone 7 Sports Ground in Winnie Mandela on Saturday, 1 November 2025, starting at 10:00 AM and running late into the night.

With tickets priced from R100 to R800, the all-day, all-night event promises a powerful mix of sound, culture, and rhythm that captures the true essence of Gauteng’s springtime spirit.

The Pulse of Tembisa Comes Alive

The Lekompo Spring Chillout is more than a music festival. It is a celebration of indigenous creativity, community, and the unstoppable energy that defines life in Tembisa. This year’s edition brings together an outstanding lineup of artists, each adding their unique sound to what promises to be an unforgettable showcase of local entertainment.

The lineup features CK and Janisto, Maredi Maredi Tsa Manyalo, Dr Skaro, Masterbetho, Biodizzy, DJ Ghetto, DJ Noko, DJ Mapensele, DJ Makerese, Bishop The MC, and Zimba Wa Bolobedu, along with several others.

These performers are well known to the people of Tembisa and beyond. They represent the heartbeat of South Africa’s vibrant township music culture. From the soulful rhythms of Manyalo to the high-energy beats of Bolobedu House, the Lekompo Spring Chillout offers something for every listener and every dance move.

    A Celebration of Township Culture

Events like the Lekompo Spring Chillout remind Gauteng audiences why township culture continues to be a cornerstone of South Africa’s creative identity. In Tembisa, music is more than entertainment. It is a lifestyle and a language that connects generations.

At its core, the event is a tribute to local artistry. From DJs spinning the latest amapiano and Afro-house tracks to vocalists delivering powerful performances, every act helps recreate the genuine township atmosphere that has made Lekompo one of the most anticipated annual events in Tembisa.

    Day to Night Vibes

What makes this festival stand out is its transformation from day to night. It begins as a relaxed afternoon gathering and builds into a lively music spectacle after sunset.

During the day, the Zone 7 Sports Ground will be filled with laughter, sunshine, and the aroma of freshly cooked street food. As the evening sets in, the energy will shift. The crowd will gather near the stage as the DJs take over and the beat carries deep into the night.

    Supporting Gauteng’s Township Economy

The Lekompo Spring Chillout is not only a major social event but also an important boost for the local economy. Township festivals like this one create opportunities for small businesses, including food vendors, local designers, security companies, and transport providers.

For Gauteng’s creative sector, and particularly for communities like Tembisa, this event is proof that music can be both a cultural force and a means of economic empowerment.

    A Safe and Inclusive Space

The organizers of the Lekompo Spring Chillout have prioritized safety and inclusivity. The event is strictly for those aged 18 and above to maintain a secure and enjoyable atmosphere. Security and crowd management teams will be on duty throughout the day and night.

For those planning to attend, it is recommended to buy tickets early. Prices range from R100 for general entry to R800 for VIP access. VIP guests will enjoy exclusive lounge areas, priority parking, and premium viewing spots close to the stage.

    Why This Event Matters

Tembisa’s growing music and lifestyle scene continues to shape Gauteng’s reputation as the cultural heartbeat of South Africa. Festivals like Lekompo highlight the province’s energy, diversity, and creativity. They show how local spaces can be transformed into vibrant entertainment hubs that celebrate identity and unity.

For many attendees, this is more than just a music festival. It is a moment of pride and belonging, a space where community and creativity meet to create lasting memories.
