Role Overview
The Mathematics Teacher will form part of the Senior Phase academic team, delivering a rigorous and engaging curriculum that nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of students. Beyond teaching, the successful candidate will guide learners in making informed subject choices, while creating a stimulating environment that encourages excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires accountability across several areas of performance, including:
- Academic Delivery: Planning, preparing, and delivering Mathematics lessons of the highest standard.
- Assessment & Reporting: Evaluating student progress and preparing detailed academic reports.
- Student Behaviour Management: Fostering discipline and positive behaviour in line with school values.
- School Brand Ambassadorship: Representing Pinnacle College professionally within the broader community.
- Administration: Maintaining accurate records and fulfilling reporting requirements.
- Health & Safety: Promoting safe practices in and outside the classroom.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Degree (NQF level 7) with a PGCE or B.Ed (Senior Phase/FET) qualification.
- SACE certification and police clearance (mandatory).
- 2–5 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in Mathematics.
- Specialist subject teaching experience (2–5 years), if applicable.
- Competency in digital literacy and use of classroom technologies.
- First Aid certification (advantageous).
