    Training Programme Details

    • Number of Positions: 100
    • Duration: 12 months
    • Salary: R252,855 – R292,596 per annum (LP-1 to LP-2)
    • Training Locations: Various centres across South Africa, including Vaal (Benoni), Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Randburg, Kimberley, Polokwane, and more.
    • Training Start Date: 1 March 2026

    Programme Requirements

    To qualify for the National Prosecution Authority Training Programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    1. LLB Degree: Applicants must have a completed LLB degree (Bachelor of Laws) or an equivalent foreign qualification, recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Final-year LLB students may apply as long as they will complete their degree before the start of the training programme.
    2. No Previous Practical Vocational Training: Preference will be given to individuals who have not yet participated in any form of practical vocational training for legal practitioners.
    3. South African Citizens: Only South African nationals are eligible to apply for this programme.
    4. Professional Competency: Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently, professionally, and accountably in line with the high standards set by the NPA.

    How the Selection Process Works

    The selection process for the National Prosecution Authority Training Programme includes several key stages:

    1. Application Submission: Applicants must submit their applications to the relevant recruitment response email addresses listed for each centre. It is essential to follow the prescribed application method as failure to do so may result in disqualification.
    2. Entry Examination: All candidates must pass a written entry examination. This examination will form part of the selection process, and only those who meet the criteria set out in the examination will proceed to the next stage.
    3. Continuous Assessment: During the 12-month training programme, you will be continuously assessed to ensure you meet the NPA’s high standards. These assessments will test your competence in legal and practical skills.
    4. Placement: If you successfully complete the programme, placement will depend on availability at different centres across South Africa.

    How to Apply for the National Prosecution Authority Training Programme

    To apply for the Aspirant Prosecutor Training Programme, follow these steps:

    1. Complete the Z83 Application Form: This form can be downloaded from the DPSA website and must be filled out in block letters.
    2. Submit Your Application: Send your completed application to the relevant email address for the centre you wish to apply for (e.g., Vaal, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, etc.).
    3. Include Supporting Documents: Along with the Z83 form, submit a comprehensive CV detailing your previous legal experience. If you are a final-year LLB student, include proof of your academic record.
    4. Stay Up to Date: The closing date for applications is 04 August 2025, so be sure to submit your application on time.
