New Tata Tiago Launches at R185k as One of SA’s Cheapest Cars

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has officially made its return to South Africa, and it’s doing so with a bang. The Indian automaker is aiming to shake up the local market with aggressive pricing and fresh products leading the charge is the all-new Tata Tiago.

One of the Most Affordable Cars in SA

The Tata Tiago enters the market as one of the cheapest new cars available to South African buyers. Starting at just R184,900 for the Tiago 1.2 XM MT, it undercuts many rivals while offering solid features. The lineup continues with the 1.2 XT MT at R209,900, and the 1.2 XT AMT automatic at R224,900.

This positions the Tiago squarely against small hatchback competitors like the Hyundai Grand i10, Kia Picanto, Suzuki Celerio, Renault Kwid, and Volkswagen Polo Vivo.
